Woke up this morning and wondered was this weekend a dream?
When you kick off your season the first competition comes with a ton of anxiety, worry and stress.
Are our teams ready? Have we worked hard enough? Have we practiced enough? How will the judges like our routines? How will our music sound? Will we HIT?
This weekend put all of the worry to rest. Our program totally ROCKED the Double Down competition. Every single kid performed on the stage! Every team HIT on stage and some HIT both days! Every single team finished 1st or 2nd. Every team had a parent/fan section who was LOUD!
From day 1 of starting this program all of us have always said we want a gym FAMILY, not a gym of people. Sure, winning is great, but getting kids excited about the sport, watching the kids grow and learn, investing in the kids by helping them learn discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and holding them accountable to consequences and lifting them up to be more than they thought they could be is our true underlying purpose.
There are days I am sure our parents think we have lost our minds when we are closing practices, calling extra practices, asking stunt groups to come into the gym more, but the respect and following you give to our leadership allows us to walk into this competition and feel so proud for our kids, their teams, and the entire program.
When we stand at the front of the stage and look back to see a fan section with parents and athletes from EVERY team you feel the family vibe to your core. I cannot thank you enough.
Donald, your push for a standard sets our program apart from many. You see the bigger picture and sacrifice so much to make the kids reach for the highest goal while loving every single one of the kids! Not many people know or see your heart but I do and we are very blessed.
Terri, this would be pointless without your passion. Family has always been at the heart of your existence and you wear that passion every day. We are all so lucky to have your VOICE in the gym!
Katie, we have walked beside you as you’ve moved through many life milestones and never once have you let these kids down. You have literally planned your life to allow your cheer kids to be PART of your life as they have done for you.
Shannon, you’ve been here 1 year now but it feels like you’ve been here since day 1. I hope yesterday showed you just how much we need you and how great of a coach you are!
Nic, you get better and better every year. Each time you let go a little and lead with your heart you always win!
Lauren, I feel like you are our secret weapon. You are in tune with the kids- part friends but definite leader. Keep pouring your heart!
Avery, I have no words to express what you have brought to the program. You lead, push, demand, and love unconditionally.
Colee, your first season kick off with Rockstar and your personality is a definite positive addition for all of us. Your passion for cheer, the way you add your sass to your routines, and your interaction with the kids gives us all LIFE!
Austin, no coach in our gym literally SHOWS the hype for cheer like you do. You share your passion with every single team unconditionally.
Chandler, every year you say you’re coming back I know we all WIN. Not sure how you handle it all but your grace and commitment is admired and appreciated.
Kasey, it’s your first year!! I cannot wait for you to experience cheer and family with this group.
Ross, I have the unique place of being your boss and your mom. I see your love and passion on the floor and your concerns and frustrations off the floor. I love your gifts you pour into your kids but still hope you listen to my advice
😜.
This message was LONG, but I wish everyone could see what I see and feel what I feel. I am literally overwhelmed with pride and passion for this gym, these coaches and these kids.
As we head into Thanksgiving I hope everyone stops and takes notice of those around you and give open praise and appreciation.
I love my people!
